The Night After the Day Before

(This story carries on after the end of 'Rampage')
Kerry goes back down to ER, pretty shocked at what she just said. Now she's very tense, what will happen to Kim, who will he tell.
A few minutes later, Kim comes down in the lift, meets Kerry just about to go up (to see her?)
W: "Are you leaving?"
L: "No. I've just seen him, Kerry. He backed down, I'm not going.
[W silenced] I can't believe you did this for me."
W: [quietly] "I love you, Kim. I can't let you go."
L: "You think I want to!"[burning look]
Kerry is crying a little, Kim wipes tears away, moves closer. Carter approaches from a distance, clearly wanting to see Kerry.
W: "Kiss me!"
L: "Here?" [amazed]
W: "Why the hell not."
They kiss, lovingly, and for a long time. Carter, coming up to them, practically has a heart attack. Patients look, Dave, Frank, Chen and nurses at desk realise something is going on, look over. Various expressions of shock. Everyone is gob-smacked. Luka smiles. Lift returns, and Kim gets back in; "I'll see you later." Kerry walks back to desk, everyone looking at her. She is rather flushed, but elated, excited. "Is there a problem?" Everyone gets back to work, not saying anything to her.
W wanders around a bit, looking at patients, then escapes into the loos. She's breathing hard, awash with adrenalin. Looks at herself in mirror, shocked, a little scared. Then smiles, gets hold of herself, carries on with her day.
A bit later, Kerry rings Kim.
W: "I had to talk to you."
L: "I just got off the phone with Lori"
W: "God, I forgot. What...?"
L: "I broke up with her."
W: "Why?"
L: "Isn't it obvious? She's nothing to you. [W silenced again]. So you're coming over tonight, right?"
W: "If it's okay?" [disbelief]
L: Oh, come on, Kerry. After work. I'll be waiting."
W: "I'll be there."
Her shift over, Kerry is driving to Kim's. She has the radio on loud, looks excited, but very jumpy, her eyes moving everywhere. Arrives at Kim's, crutches up to the door. Takes a breath and moves to knock, but before she can do so, Kim has opened the door.
L: "Get in here!"
W: "Ah, hi."
Kim sweeps her into the lounge, takes her coat. Kerry is determined to say her bit, so gets on with it
W: "Kim, I'm so sorry I couldn't come clean earlier. I know what you must think of me for that. I don't know why I didn't, I guess I was just scared. But now it's done, it feels good, kinda."
Kim has been looking at her with a gentle smile;
L: "Oh, Kerry..."
W: "Can you forgive me? You know I..."
L: "I know. Of course I forgive you. You saved my ass today!"
Kerry looks so happy that Kim has to smile too. She moves closer, touches Kerry's shoulder. Kerry is crying now, Kim almost does too, then draws Kerry too her, and they kiss again, becoming more passionate. When they break apart, Kim says:
L: "You know something? I think I love you too. [pause]
Stay with me tonight, we'll face the music in the morning."
Fade out.
